Ruhija Sector

Ruhija sector is an area within the Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park in southwestern Uganda. It offers unique opportunities for gorilla trekking and provides visitors with a distinct experience.

The Ruhija sector is situated in the newest Rubanda (formerly Kabale) district, which is part of the Bwindi National Park’s eastern region. Ruhija sector is easily accessible from Kigali, Rwanda, via the Kyanika or Katuna land border crossing. From Kigali to Ruhija, the drive takes 4 to 5 hours. The adjacent Kihihi Airport also provides connectivity to Ruhija. From Kihihi airport to Entebbe airport, AeroLink operates daily flights. Rushaga sector is an area located in the Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park in southwestern Uganda. Rushaga is located in the southern part of the park. This sector has the highest number of habituated gorilla families. Rushaga is one of the sectors where habituation is currently taking place in Bwindi.

The Sector can be easily accessible to travelers coming from Kigali through the Cyanika border in Kisoro and it will only take 4 hr to drive from Kigali to Rushaga.

Buhoma Sector

The northern region of Bwindi National Park, in the district of Kanungu, is the Buhoma sector, which also serves as the park’s administrative center. Buhoma may be reached by car in 8 to 9 hours from Kampala and in 5 to 6 hours from Kigali. Additionally, Buhoma is reachable via the close-by Kihihi airport.
